The CM Jibon Prerana Scheme is a new youth empowerment initiative launched by the Government of Assam on 3rd November 2025. Introduced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the CM Jibon Prerana Scheme provides ₹2,500 per month for one year to fresh graduates of Assam who completed their studies in 2025.

Under the CM Jibon Prerana Scheme, eligible graduates from government and public institutions will receive direct financial assistance through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The goal of the scheme is to support young graduates during their job search, encourage preparation for competitive exams, and promote self-employment opportunities.

The CM Jibon Prerana Scheme aims to build a self-reliant and skilled generation of Assam. The government envisions that this initiative will help graduates transition smoothly from education to employment. The main objectives are:

• To encourage graduates to prepare for competitive exams and skill programs.

According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the CM Jibon Prerana Scheme is part of a larger mission to empower the youth and remove economic barriers that hinder progress.

The CM Jibon Prerana Scheme focuses on graduates who are currently unemployed and looking for jobs or preparing for exams. Students from open universities or private colleges are not eligible for this scheme.

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria to apply for the CM Jibon Prerana Scheme:

1. Resident: Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
2. Education: Must be a fresh graduate (2025 pass-out) from a government or public institution located in Assam.
3. Employment: Must be currently unemployed at the time of application.

Exclusion Categories

The following applicants are not eligible for the CM Jibon Prerana Scheme:

• Children of government employees (except Class IV workers).
• Children of ministers and MLAs.
• Children of government-registered contractors.
• Applicants whose parents have an annual income above ₹10 lakh.
